Walk Tall is a group of four musicians coming from four different countries (Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Holland) all based in Barcellona. The project was born when the swiss pianist Gilles Estoppey meets the Spanish guitarist Enric Peinado while both attending music courses in Amsterdam. During the winter of 2011 Gilles moves to Barcellona and together with Enric contact the Italian double bass player Giampaolo Laurentaci and the Dutch drummer Tjin Jans to create a quartet to be named Walk Tall. The name of the band was obviously,inspired by the famous track that Joe Zawinul wrote for the Cannonball Adderley Quintet. Roots on Top is their second album and is released by the Italian label A.MA Records, with this recording the band widens its horizons creating.
